  • "The best entrepreneurs are not the ones in Silicon Valley who are creating an app that will make life a little easier or fleetingly more fun (but who will create very few jobs and bring ungodly riches only to themselves and their investors).

The best entrepreneurs are out there in cities and towns across the country, disrupting the world’s toughest problems, creating good-paying jobs, and strengthening their communities."

"Why Creating The Next Silicon Valley

    ... Is The Wrong Goal"

    i(x) investments

i(x) investments is a permanently capitalized holding company for investors who want to create long-term economic growth in combination with social impact.

We advised i(x) on their early-stage investment fund, i(x) ventures.

Founded in 1945, CARE is one of the largest and oldest humanitarian aid organizations focused on fighting global poverty. CARE works in 90 countries, supporting 880 poverty-fighting projects and humanitarian aid projects, and reaching over 72 million people.

We were selected by CARE to develop their Financial Modeling Lab and Business Planning Lab curricula, to develop internal best practices, case studies, and trainings, and to teach development experts from around the world the technical skills needed to transition donor-led projects to become market-ready and, in some cases, investment-ready.

    CARE Enterprises

In addition to our work on CARE's Financial Services Lab, we have supported CARE Enterprises, their first fund focused on scaling businesses both within and beyond CARE networks. This fund will leverage CARE’s teams locally to understand what the breaking-point is for the poverty cycle in each geography, then making investments in businesses that deliver on that target.

We conducted research, created a funder prospecting list, developed a capital stack, fund thesis, and investor materials, and created outreach strategies for the CARE Enterprises fund.

    Pension Fund of

    the Christian Church

For more than 100 years, the Pension Fund of the Christian Church has provided protection to participants and their families in their greatest time of need. The Pension Fund currently serves over 12,600 members and has assets in excess of $3 billion.

We advised the Pension Fund on their strategies during the hiring of their c-suite and senior team.

    A Force for Social Innovation

The Propeller Social Venture Fund is a $1 million low-interest loan fund that provides loans between $20,000 and $100,000 to social entrepreneurs tackling social and environmental disparities in the areas of food, water, health, and education. The fund also provides loans to entrepreneurs of color located in the South Broad commercial corridor.

We conducted research, created a funder prospecting list, developed a capital stack, fund thesis, and investor materials, and raised the capital for the Propeller Social Venture Fund.
