Former White House and Obama Campaign Strategist, Raul M. Alvillar, Joins Medora Ventures

WASHINGTON, DC, April 12, 2017 – Medora Ventures is proud to announce Raul M. Alvillar as Managing Director for its Washington, DC, office. Alvillar is the former National Political Director of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and is a longtime White House strategist and Obama campaign alum. He was named to the Huffington Post’s list of 40 under 40 most influential Latinos in American Politics in 2014 and 2015.

Medora Ventures is a consulting firm that works with purpose-driven clients, such as the U.S. Soccer Foundation, CARE, and i(x) investments. In his new position, Alvillar will be responsible for leading the public affairs offering of the firm and developing opportunities for Medora Ventures clients to collaborate with partners in Washington, DC.

Previously, Alvillar served as the Senior Advisor to Secretary Shaun Donovan in the Office of Public Engagement and Public Affairs in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) where he advised senior officials daily regarding issues related to housing, Sustainable Communities and Promise Zones. Prior to his position at HUD, Alvillar was Associate Director at the Office of Public Engagement for the White House Office of the Vice President, where he was the liaison between the White House and leading policy influencers across Washington D.C. This role also included facilitating White House interactions with senior policymakers, community leaders, and other key stakeholders, in order to find common ground on issues of mutual concern.

Alvillar has been with President Obama since 2007 in a variety of different roles. His professional path included serving as Deputy National Political Director at Senator John Kerry's Keeping America's Promise PAC as well as Political Director and Regional Field Director on the John Kerry 2004 Presidential campaign.
